Ash Green Scouts Dementia Award Finalist

Ash Green Scouts were one of only four finalists for the Dementia Friendly Kent Awards. Nominated by local Community Warden Jackie West, Group Scout Leader Peter Lewis represented the group at the awards ceremony on the 24th October 2016.

Sponsor of the awards, the Kent Dementia Action Alliance are a group of Kent organisations who work together to better meet the needs of people with dementia so everyone can live well within their communities.

TV Journalist and presenter Angela Rippon OBE, ambassador for the Alzheimer's Society, was Guest Speaker at the event and was impressed with the Group involvement in the Million Hands Project, commending our work with the Memory Café to host the HM Queen's 90th Birthday Party for the members of the Memory Café and other local elderly residents.
