Training
All adults leaders undertake a training programme - but let's get a few things straight. By "training" we don't mean how to light a fire, tie knots or build a rope bridge over a river.
We call that Skills Training and while it is also on offer, it is entirely up to you whether or not you want to learn these skills.
By Adult Leader Training we mean giving you the skills you'll need to manage young people, provide them with challenging activities in a safe environment and how to run your Section.
You'll also learn how to manage other adults and plan effectively - skills that will also stand you in good stead in the workplace. All training is free and you'll be supported throughout by your own personal mentor.
If you'd like to see in detail how this works and what your initial training looks like, then follow this link. If you'd like to have an overview of the overall training programme, go here.
As you can see, there's not a knot in sight!
