Uniform
Scout uniforms can be purchased from Scout Shops Ltd, the official trading arm of The Scout Association. Profits are ploughed back into Scouting, helping to reduce subscriptions. Click here to go to Scout Shops on-line store.
One Stop Scouting is ideal for all Scouting activity wear and equipment. To see their site, click here.
You can save money by buying on ebay but be very careful as some of the uniforms are from the USA, some are vintage and others aren't even part of the uniform. Avoid uniform items decribed as being for "Boy Scouts" or "Wolf Cubs". That is the American terminolgy. In the UK, it is "Cub Scouts" or "Cubs" and "Scouts". It would make sense to have the Scout Shop site open as well before you start to bid to make sure you are bidding on the right thing. For the link to ebay, click here
Stores like Primark and Asda also have the correct coloured trousers at a lower price - but please make sure you have the correct colours.
Finally, we operate a "Donate to donate" scheme where parents give us uniforms that have been outgrown and we loan them to young people. It is a good way for people who are on a tight budget to ensure their children are in uniform. Any donations from parents are gratefully received.
Our Group scarves are white with an emerald green border and your child will receive one free of charge once invested into the Movement. That simply means they have to know the Law and Promise and take part in a few activities. They'll get their first badges at the same time.
Badges can only be obtained from the District Badge Secretary by Leaders. Once your children have gained the Badges, you'll need to know where they go. Click on the logo for more information on that Section..
