Under New Management

Ash Green Scout Group has a new - but highly experienced - leader team.

Gary.jpgGary Davies is Group Scout Leader, Gary who lives in New Ash Green has been Beaver Scout Leader, building the Colony up from six to 24 in less than a year. As with all Section Leaders, Gary has completed his leader training. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Group ensuring its continued growth and success. In his "spare time" Gary also drives the Group Minibus so if you see us around the village, it will be him behind the wheel.

jenn.jpgJen Godden runs Beavers. Jen also lives in the village and has run the Cubs very successfully for several years. Jen is also fully qualified having recently completed all her leader training. Jen is moving to Beavers as we have recruited a new Cub Scout Leader. Gary Davies who was Beaver Leader will continue to work with Jen in the Colony. There's a busy programme planned for the next few months.

Debbie Knowles is leader of Speedwell Explorer Scout Unit. Scouts from New Ash Green go to Speedwell Explorers in nearby Hartley when they are 14. We meet each Monday and have a really full programme of activities planned for the coming months. Speedwell take part in loads of expeditions and do loads of canoeing and kayaking. They're also into traditional skills such as tracking, survival camping and Scoutcraft.

Says Alan Pett, chairman of New Ash Green Village Association and a member of Ash Green Scout's Governing Body: "This is a really strong leader team and it is committed to offering quality Scouting. Already we are seeing exciting changes and I hope the village will support this excellent initiative."
