Ash Green Scouts AGM and Prize Giving - 13-06-2010
Ash Green Scout Group held its AGM on Tuesday 8th June.
As well as reports from the section leaders, Treasurer and Chair, a number of awards were presented to young people in the Beaver and Cub Colonys.
The Group Scout Leader summed up the past 12 months as an incredible year for the group with scout membership at Ash Green up by 70%. There have been many exciting and challenging events held over the past year with many more planned for the forthcoming months. However, the group are fast becoming victims of their own success and there is an urgent need for adult helpers across all sections. If you are interested in helping out with our scouting activities, even for only an hour or so a month, Follow this link.
In an effort to secure much needed funding the Scout Group has recently registered to take part in the Gift Aid Scheme. It is estimated that £1500 - £1800 could be raised if gift aid forms are completed and returned to the Scout Leaders. Please see the Gift Aid section for more information.
Finally, prizes were awarded to Brendan (for most improved Beaver), Owen (best behaved and most helpful Beaver) and Zaine (Chief Scout Bronze Award). In the Cub Colony Amelia, Conner, Espen and Jack collected the Chi Chi trophy. The Best Imagination Trophy was won by Jack (Rambo), and Conner collected the prize for the most improved Cub.
Thank you to all those who attended the AGM and who have supported the Group over the past year. It is very much appreciated.
